At Alimentaria, Frozen España leads the promotion and defence of frozen products as essential for sustainability and food equity

The power of frozen food

The Frozen España Association will be present at the next edition of Alimentaria, the representative of frozen food distributors and manufacturers. The idea to create this association arose after a series of yearly lunches held in Seville by companies working with this product dating back to 2013. Its aim is to promote and uphold the value of frozen products for retail and HORECA consumers.

Established in 2019, Frozen España is a non-profit organisation whose aim is to create a collaborative environment and communication channels between manufacturers and distributors operating with frozen foods, implementing common projects, organising forums and working groups, as well as promoting draft legislation to present to public administrations.

Within these ventures, Frozen draws up general communication plans to raise awareness of the benefits of frozen products. Through their partners, they offer different services related to energy, insurance, law, employment, digitalisation, mobility and industry. And they jointly conduct collective bargaining and representation before public administrations for the defence and training of workers in the sector.

Last January the Association organised the Frozen & Fresh Market in Seville, the first one centring on frozen products in Europe. The Association also organises professional and institutional events, and participates at food fairs, such as Alimentaria. At their stand, they look forward to welcoming all those companies that work with frozen products and wish to join its members to promote frozen products as safe, highly available, and sustainable, as well as a vital resource to combat food waste.

Their purpose as an association is to bring together the more than 2000 companies operating in Spain to defend the sector. Frozen España currently has 170 frozen product distributor and manufacturer members, which account for more than 1.6 billion in global turnover and generate some 6000 direct and 9500 indirect jobs.
